Attending City Council meetings is a great way to learn about and become more involved with your city. But if you've never attending one before, what can you expect?

In Oakland, the Council meets on the first, third and fifth Tuesdays of every month. Meetings take place on the third floor of City Hall - at 1 Frank Ogawa Plaza - and are open to the public.

Ashby bike station opening soon

The Ashby bike station will most resemble the bike station at Embarcadero BART.

A new 124-capacity bike station will open within a month at Ashby BART station. The bike station will be similar to the existing self-service bike parking facility at Embarcadero station, and will be located just south of the main station entrance.
